Back to Work

We got back from the beach last night around 9pm & we had a great time, even Spencer enjoyed it. Yes, we took him, (he has never been boarded) he goes pretty much everywhere with us & enjoys it. He is such a good car rider.

We didn't get much sun this time due to the weather. Saturday it was rainy & chilly all day so we headed for the outlets. We purchased our first item for BB at Carter's, they were having a big sale. Its a white outfit with pink/green polka dots with feet (kinda of like footie pjs, but nicer) which I made a "B" line for as soon as I saw it. I just had to get it for her. It was only $5. I may post a picture of BB's new outfit if I remember. I also purchase more maternity clothes at Motherhood which I can't wait to wear - they are so cute.

Then Sunday I woke up feeling terrible due to my head cold, so I stayed in & slept while everyone else headed off to church. Then when they all came back we ate lunch & headed to the beach. It was beautiful but very windy & chilly. We sat there on the beach covered in towels while my nieces played & had a great time. Then we headed back to the beach house around 6pm because Mama had to go home, (she had to work on Monday) which most of us forgot about, except Mama of course. We hated that she had to leave (along with her 3 cats - yes she brings them to the beach too, they don't travel quite as well as Spencer) & I know she did too.

Monday was a great day on the beach. It was about 80 with a light breeze - perfect. We didn't get in the water but the girls did & they said it was cold but you get used to it.

All in all we had a great time & I am looking forward to going back very soon.

Beach Here We Come

Yes, we are heading to the beach for the 3 day weekend with my family & I am so looking forward to it. I have been crazy busy at work & when I come back to work on Tuesday the craziness will still be here in waiting. I am also eager to wear my new maternity swim suit I got from Target over the weekend. Granted its solid black & a tankinie but its really cute. The bad part about this suit is it will not last me all summer, its just not very big but it will do for a while.

Another little bit of news, I have a cold again, or still as my mother said last night. She asked me if I was going to keep it until the baby was born & I said probably. I have been congested & coughing since I originally got sick back in Jan & just can't seem to completely shack it. Luckily I don't feel to bad & I plan to take cold meds with me to the beach.

Our Strong Baby Girl

Sorry for the delay but we have been busy at home & we are in deadline at work so my free time is lacking. I had my 4 week follow up with the Maternal & Fetal Medicine dr last Wednesday (boy was I nervous) & the news was better than we could have ever expected. She is growing beautifully, as far as they can tell now she doesn't have spina bifida (which was a possiblity), no cleft palete or lip & her heart is looking good so far. Normally the ultra sound for these things are checked at 17-19 weeks & I was only 15w 6d at the time, so I will go back June 5th to check her our again. But they did see 4 chambers of the heart & the walls of the heart which is great. We also got to see her brain - too cool. The best part of all...the cystic hygroma IS GONE!!! I was totally shocked. The dr told us last time we were there that is it disappeared it wouldn't be until week 20 or so but it is gone.

We are so thankful - God is good - Trust in Him always!!!

Running a Marathon

Yesterday I had my 15 week check with my OB, Dr. S. & that is what he said to me. You will be running a marathon in October & now its time to start training for it. He wants me to start exercising 4-5 times a week to train for the marathon of giving birth which shouldn't be a problem since I am starting to feel like myself again. The nausa has returned but its not a harsh as it originally was. The biggest difference is that meat of any kind is a huge turn off. The smell & taste of it is really bad, unless its mexican food which I crave all the time along with ice cream.

Back to the actual appointment, we got to hear BB's heartbeat which took the CMA 5-10 minutes to find which had Chris & I a little concerned at first but I think she was looking too high. BB was positioned really low (which makes since because my baby bump to low too) & her heartbeat was 148. It was a lot slower than the last time we heard it (179) but they said she still sounded good - maybe she was sleeping. Dr. S also said my weight & blood pressure was really good too. We will have an ultra sound next week with the specialist which we are eager to see her again. My mother said over the weekend that maybe when we see her next week it will help us pick out her name. We have it narrowed down to 4-5 names but having some trouble actually deciding. I will be sure to pass along her name once we finalize one.

8 Little Facts About Me...

1. I can't see out of my right eye. When I was born 36 years ago I was born with cateracts in that eye, which at the time was very rare & not correctable. I did have 4 surgeries & they did what they could at the time. I even have a scar above my right eye to prove it all.

2. I have to wear glasses - doctors orders. It goes right in line with fact #1. It just isn't safe for me to not to, I have to protect my left eye - the good one.

3. I wore contacts & an eye patch as a baby & toddler. Yes this was part of my eye treatments.

4. I hate going to the eye doctor to this day & you can probably guess why. I still have bad memories of some the surgeries & eyes appointments from when I was very small.

5. I can't read music. I love to sing & was in chorus all through middle school, high school & 2 years of college but I still don't know how to read it.

6. I am scared of bees.

7. I am now the bulletin lady at church. I prepared the bulletin each week with all the new announcement, Sunday's sermon & the monthly assignments.

8. I took baton lessons in the 6th grade with several of my friends & this was the only so called sport I ever played.

These were inspired by Leah & Kristi. That was fun girls, thanks.
