Can't Wait to Recline & Rock

Today we purchased our first recliner/rocker. I have always wanted one but we decided to wait until we were expecting a baby. We found one at Lazy Boy & it was a pretty good price, the only bad part is we didn't get to bring it home. Now we could have purchased the one off the floor that we liked but we didn't want to pay for the "special fabric coating protector" that was supposedly already sprayed on the recliner. We were hoping once we told the salesman we didn't want to purchase that protector that he would cut that off the price, but no such luck. We also didn't want to pay to have it delivered & one of us have to take time off work to wait on the delivery. So Chris will go one day this week to pick it up from the Lazy Boy warehouse. YEAH!!!

Aching Feet

I think I learned yesterday that regardless what shoes I wear on photoshoots my feet are still going to hurt. I could probably wear sneakers but they are so hot & a little snug now, I can't stand to wear them for long periods of time. So sandals & flip flops are the footwear of choice right now. The good part is that they aren't really swollen yet just sore from standing for hours. We had one shoot on Wednesday & 2 on Thursday & my feet still hurt this morning. I must say that is the only compliant (other than the heat) I have being pregnant & working right now. I am really enjoying the pregnancy so far.

I Found It

I finally found the high chair I have been wanted Isaw at BJ's warehouse many months ago but they no longer carry it, so the search was on. It isn't that much different than the one we originally registered for on Sat. but at least its not all plastic. I really wanted a wood one & I knew I had seen this one I just couldn't find it anyway. After many days of searching on the internet & going to a few stores I remembered it was an Eddie Bauer chair which was a great help to my search. I ended up finding it on Babies R Us & replaced this chair with the plastic one. Believe it or not this one is even cheaper than the other one. YEAH!!!

Thumps or Flutters

As many of you may know I felt the baby move for the first time over the weekend & it was amazing. I have had several moms already ask me if it feels like butterflies fluttering around & I said no, it feels like thumps. It is almost like she is knocking, hey mom what you doing??? Then yesterday right before I left work to go home I felt the so called flutters & those were a strange I must see. I felt it again last night while I was trying to go to sleep too. I wish Chris could experience how this feels, luckily he will get to feel her kick from the outside of my belly once she gets bigger. Grow BB Grow!!!

Signed Up & Waiting

Yesterday I scheduled our labor & delivery tour at the hospital + our maternity classes. Now I am not totally sure whether we actually need the maternity classes but I guess it will not hurt. I definitely do not plan on having a "natural birth," I would much rather have an epidural if I can. My sister has told me before that most of the ladies in those classes do not plan on having natural birth either, they just go to the classes to be prepared for what it about to happen + it would be nice for my hubby to be informed as well.

Registered!!!

We had a great time registering but man did it take a long time. We were there for 3-4 hours & even had to stop for a lunch break. Feel free to take a peak at our registry, my in-laws have already purchased our bedding for us yesterday. I think the bedding was the hardest thing to decide on. Neither one of us wanted a pink nursery, but the Love Bug pattern was the only one we both agreed on that was in the store. We are still undecided what color to make the nursery. We considering making an accent wall either pink or brown which would follow the pattern in some of the rooms in the rest of the house. Our living room & master bedroom both have accent walls that I love so Chris' mom is going to order some paint swatches for us to choose from. She's an interior designer so that comes in handy.

Here is a picture of the bedding we choose, note how pink the room is with the walls painted pink, that is just way too much for us. Feel free to offer any suggestions you may have for paint colors.

We also plan of going to Target to register too. Babies R Us didn't really have a high chair that we really liked so we are hoping Target will have some different chooses. We did go ahead & add one to our registry at BRU but I hope to remove it soon.

Movement!!!!

I felt the baby move for the first time over the weekend. We were in the car on the way to Babies R Us Saturday morning & I felt something wierd, then a minute later I felt it again. It was her alright. I think she was excited about going to register too, or at least that is what I am telling people. Mama says she is getting my back for all the specialists poking at her, so who really knows. I am just excited to feel her. The specialist told us on the 5th that it may be a couple more weeks until I could feel her move unless she turned around. She must of turned because I have felt her several times yesterday & this morning.

Babies R Us, Here We Come

Today is the day. We are going to register, yea!!! I am so excited. My mom & both my sisters are going with us, thankfully, because we are not quite sure what all we will need. I have received a car seat, swing, walker & a couple other things from friend at work so that should help condense our list some. I think the hardest part is going to be picking out which patterns to use for the nursery, we are still undecided on that. It definitely will not be a room of pink, I can assure. I would prefer to use pink/green or purple/green & Chris wants pink/brown or green/brown. We shall see what the day holds. We do plan on registering at Target too for some odds & ends or things we can't find at Babies R Us.

Puppy is Better

This is one of the only good pictures of Spencer I could find. Its from a year or so ago at a Halloween party in my sister's neighborhood. He was a K9 dog. See the smile on his cute little face, that is what he looks like most of the time. He is such a happy little guy.

Spencer got to come home last night & he seems to be doing better. He did vomit once at the vet yesterday a couple hours after they feed him but he didn't do it again. We did have to wait until this morning to feed him again & so far so good. He is still a little grouchy & tired but he did play a little last night & this morning. Now we just have to feed him low residue food for a week & give him Pepcid AC. We still think he may have eaten or gotten into the weed killer Chris was putting out Sat. morning but since we didn't run the blood panel we don't know for sure. As long as he doesn't vomit or have diaherra again we don't have to take him back to the doctor.

Funny Pics

cat
more cat pictures

I saw this link on a friends blog & this was my favorite one, especially since I have an overweight cat, Samantha & I totally see her doing something like this. Follow the link above if you would like to see more.

Sick Puppy

Yes our sweet adorable 3 year old lhasa shih-tzu pup, Spencer is sick. He has been vomitting & having diaherra since Sat. afternoon. Last night he vomitted several times & I finally told Chris I was calling the vet in the morning, which I did. They told me to bring him on in. So I dropped him off this morning & headed on in to work. The doc called a few minutes ago & said his stool was starting form solids, as it should & he was a little dehydrated (probably from being outside Sat morning in the heat + he can't seem to keep anything down). She also examined his belly & she said he cried while she was touching him, so she is not quite sure what that might be. He may have eaten something odd or his belly may just be sore from being upset. She of course offered to run more tests & xrays which would run our bill up to $525, no thank you. So she went ahead & gave him so fluids & nausa meds. She wants us to watch him the next day or so & as long as he isn't vomitting anymore we can feed him low residue food. Hopefully he will feel better soon, we (actually Chris) are pretty tired of cleaning up dog yack.

We finally bought one

No its not a crib or any type of baby items, it a new vacuum. We have been discussing it for some time & finally made the plung last night. Ours had lost a lot of suction power & was stinky, so we went shopping Saturday night. Chris has been researching them, so like him, & has been wanting an Oreck. I was totally against it due to the large price tag they have, but they do have a great reputation. So we went to their store to try them out & I was surprised how much I liked it. Now to be fair we also went to Sears to try out some Dyson's, which is what I wanted, but I really didn't like them. Everything was really heavy in comparison to the Oreck, it only weighs 9 lbs. Most of the others were 20-30 lbs & I hate dragging those heavy things up the stairs.

So to make a long story a little shorter we got the Oreck, which also came with a free cordless iron, a free small canister vac with attachments (great for stairs, furniture & even your car) + they give you a credit for your current vac. Needless to say, Chris sat in the floor last night playing with all the new vacs & did some test runs on the living room downstairs & the stairs.
Also the vac we got is self-perpelled, I love that feature. Vacuuming has always killed my back, so it became one of the chores Chris would do for me. So hopefully our floors will now be much cleaner & the house will smell fresher.

Doctors Appointments

Last Thursday we had our monthly appointments with the OB & the Maternal & Fetal Medicine doctors. For the most part the appointments went really well. My weight is right where it should be, my blood pressure is good, BB's heartbeat is strong & I feel pretty good most of the time. I do get tired really easy, which is to be expected & lets not even talk about how hot I am - Oh Man! It is going to be a long summer if it stays this hot (high 90s). I did hear this morning that by the end of the week in will only be 88, YEAH!!!

Then after the OB appointment we headed to the MFM doctor. I enjoying going so we can see the progress of the pregnancy, but its always a little nerve racking for me too. They have high def ultra sound, which is really cool. She has grown so much since last month & is doing really good. The only concern the doctor had is that he thinks she has a heart defect, a hole in her heart. He wasn't 100% sure & he couldn't get her to move in the correct position so he could give us a definite answer. He says she will be fine & that this is a very common heart defect + it can correct itself. If it doesn't close on its on than she will probably have to have surgery to correct it, but it wouldn't be immediately after birth. We can wait until she is a toddler or older for the surgery. He also told us when we come back in 5 weeks we should be able to see her heart much better & if they think the hole really is there they will call in a Peds Cardiologist. The Peds Cardio doctor will access the ultra sound & talk to us about how to proceed + what to expect. We are so thankful to have a team of doctors so caring & eager to assist us all the way through this process. Also we can't tell you how much we appreciate everyone's thoughts & prayers during this process. We love you all.

Apple Resurrection

My Macintosh computer has been fixed & I got it back this morning. At first Wes called me & said, "what was wrong with this computer again." When he turned it on it worked just fine for him, at first. Which is typical for him. He has some kind of special vibe with computers that I don't really understand. At our old office we would call him to come take a look at our computers & all he would have to do is sit beside us & then it would work correctly, no lie. He did eventually find something wrong with mine once he did some digging.

There was actually several things wrong with my computer. The log on feature was getting stuck even though I had that feature disabled the computer still would not start up. Then he noticed that my computer would freeze if you stepped away from it & let it go into sleep mode, but I told him it has done that for a while. I just didn't want to take the time to try & troubleshoot that to figure out why. Then last night he discovered something was actually wrong the hard drive itself so he went ahead & reformatted it for me. Luckily I asked him to back up my hard drive just in case he had to reformat it. Now over the weekend I will have to reinstall all my software which has also been acting up too, so it was needed.

No More Rings

We finally got my wedding band off last night. For those who may not know I normally do not take off my wedding band & it had become to tight for me to remove, even before becoming pregnant. We attempted to remove it ourselves Sunday night after church by soaking my hand in ice water & using a lubricant but that did work. So last night after work we went to the store where we purchased our bands & they cut if off for me. It took the jeweler probably 10-15 minutes to get if off but it wasn't too bad. It did hurt some & her blade on the tool was a little dull but now I am free of rings. I stopped wearing my diamond & my aquamarine ring several weeks ago when they got tight but I didn't want the hospital to cut my band off so that is why we went to a jeweler.

Now once our baby girl is born & I lose some weight I will go have my band resized. I am so glad we got that taken care of, but now I have an indention on my ring finger where my band used to be. It shows just how snug my ring actually was on my finger.

Apple Died

Yea, my computer died over the weekend & boy was I upset. For those who may not know, I am now working on the church's weekly bulletin & the monthly calendar, that is when I discovered it died. I went to make a correction on the bulletin Sat. morning before we went to the church building to print it out & it would not boot up. It kept printing a lot of garbage on the screen or telling me I needed to restart my computer. I attempted to boot it off the system cd, but that didn't work. So this was the point I started to get upset. Our Lifetime profile is on my computer, any freelance jobs I have worked on & all the church info too. I certainly didn't want to start from scratch. I am sure you are thinking, didn't you have a back-up of your work Angie - no I did not- shame on me.

I contacted a friend of mine I used to work with, Wes, & told him what was happening, begging him to help me. He thinks its only a motherboard or ram issue which he says is no big deal to fix. YEAH!!! I was afraid it was all lost. Now all I have to do is open the computer up & tell him how much ram I have + what type of motherboard is in the CPU & he will help me fix it. I am so glad he will be able to fix it. Buying me a new Macintosh is just not in our budget right now + I didn't want to take it to the Apple Store where they would over change me to fix it. So in the meantime I will be using Chris' IBM laptop or a loaner MAC.

Frozen

As of Saturday, May 31st, our adoption account has been frozen. Lifetime offers this to their clients if they become pregnant or have a tragedy in their family, other than a death. They allow you to freeze your account for up to 9 months & they suggested we go ahead & freeze now. In their experiences, birth mothers don't pick couples who are expecting & we are going to have to freeze our account anyway at the end of August due to me not being able to travel 8 weeks prior to my due date (OB's orders), so we went ahead & did it now. It kind of saves us a little money too because Lifetime was almost out of profiles & our coordinator wanted us to send her more by May 31st. Now with our account being frozen that isn't necessary since birth mothers do not view clients whose accounts are frozen. We will have to update our profile once the baby is born & also update our homestudy. There is also a fee to unfreeze your account, which I am not real crazy about but at least we don't loss all these months waiting for a match when it likely will not happen, according to Lifetime. If you remember, when we signed our contract with Lifetime it was only for 2 years, so freezing it for up to 9 months only plays in our favor so we don't loss time + money.
